SMILING DINO

Package Design + Brand Development + Teamwork + 3D Rendering

OVERVIEW

This portfolio project presents a collaboration between packaging students and myself to develop “Smiling Dino,” a children’s snack pack brand. My role included package design and brand identity, while the students focused on structural design and materials. The final product features three dinosaur-themed variations tailored to specific snacks, blending functionality and play to captivate young audiences.

JOURNEY

INSIGHTS

Interview with Betsy Irving, teacher at Arts Aloft.
I interviewed Betsy Irving, owner of Arts Aloft and my former employer, to gather insights into children’s snack habits. Arts Aloft, an arts studio for children ages 4–12, offers summer camps from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Betsy shared valuable information about the snacks kids enjoy, the packaging they find difficult, the activities that keep them engaged, and the animals and subjects they like.

“My camps are literature-oriented, so I would love to see a product with a more historical point of view. I doesn’t need a character, like Anna from Frozen, simply a logo that’s fun, colorful, and appealing from an artistic point of view.”
